No disrespect meant here at all: [1. Can't tell the sex of a plant until it is starting to bloom if you have started from seeds]

I never bloom a plant to tell sex. It will show you, it's naughty bits, in 4-6 weeks usually. I've had a few go longer, and few come in sooner. I'll see if I can find a scan I used in area for years till got it!
