    another great canadian milestone.

canada researches possible cure for cancer!

    video

the video explains the researching going on for a molecular compound called DCA, or Dichloroacetic acid. It causes cancer cells to commit 'cellular suicide' by shutting down cancer cells mitochondria, therefore cutting off its metabolism and causing the cell to die off.

this is a medical breakthrough of such great magnitude. the only problem is its non-patentable and therefore cannot be profited from..so pharmacies wont fund research for it.

this could be a cheap, abundant potential cure for many different forms of cancer.

Scientists and researchers have been saying they found a possible cure for cancer YEARS and YEARS ago. Look at it today, it's still destroying the lives of millions.

I don't believe the 'cure for cancer' bullshit anymore.

you arent gonna put stuff into your body until you know exactly what it does.

research for cures and vaccines take YEARS AND YEARS. thats why there isnt one yet.

ps. rats were injected human cancer cells and forced to grow tumors. after dca was introduced to their diet via their water bowl, the tumors shrunk in a matter of a week to a month (guesstimation on the time allotted)

Yeah, I actually remember hearing about this a little while back. I don't understand why it's "unpatentable". Yeah it's super cheap and common, so there probably wouldn't be a huge profit margin on it, but are there seriously no pharmaceutical companies willing to just help people? I sure hope our medical system or government figures out a way to utilize this, possibly without the pharma's involvement.

i think its not patentable because its a molecule. you cant patent oxygen hahaha. its the same thing pretty much.

Well everything's a bunch of molecules when you get right down to it. I say they just mix in with some saline, give it a catchy name like "fukitol", and call it a medicine already!

haha i saw that in friendowls avatar, fukitol!

a patent is a set of rights granted to a patentee for a fixed period of time for something they invented. no one invented dca, or oxygen, or hydrogen or anything like that. you know?

Yeap that's why so many meds have 'generic equivelants' taht cost a fraction of the price...once something is invented like that, anyone can just take it.

That's what I hate about the world. Cthulhu-forbid anyone do something for humanity for free! :-(

Bro: \"That\'s how I want to make money.\"
    Dad: \"What, selling sod?\"
Bro: \"Yeah! Rolling up grass and selling it.\"
Dad: \"Growing up, I knew a LOT of people who made money by rolling up grass and selling it.\"
