Gordon Brown was out there recently assessing the situation, he came under fire from mortar attack but no-one knows if he was targetted or it was a coincidence. As far as I know he isn't going to pull out the troops and beleives that Tony Blairs decision to go to war was the right one.

I have no idea why so many people like this guy, he just comes across as a nice guy I think, I'm not fooled by it though. He gave single mothers and pensioners loads of money apparently, so that's also probably why he is popular. I'm not complaining about that, but just before that he hit me really hard with his new IR35 tax clause which took away all the tax breaks enjoyed by people who work as contractors, the year I started my first contract. These tax breaks were supposed to compensate contractors for the fact they could get paid off at any time, and 1 year later that's exactly what happened.
