    Failsafe Pot-Tea

I've heard tons of stuff about Pot-Tea all over this forum and even some stuff circulating around my group of friends about it. Making tea from your bud is actually a very efficient way to use it, but only if you do it right, so here is a little tutorial on Pot-Tea.

First of all, making tea with your cannabis is technically not making tea at all, and if you want it to be efficient, don't bother using water because THC and cannabinoids in Marijuana are NOT water soluble, however, they are extremely FAT soluble. Keeping this in mind, the best solvent for your tonic is whole milk.

    Now, for the process:

    Materials:
    1/8th of headies.
    A cooking pot.
    Large mouth glass jar.
Half cup of whole milk or heavy cream.

    1. Grind your cannabis to a chunky texture, not too fine.
    2. Boil water in a deep pot.
    3. Put about half a cup of milk into a large mouth jar.
    4. Put the grinded cannabis onto a baking sheet or tinfoil, place in preheated oven (350 degrees) for about 5 minutes.
    5. Put cannabis into jar with milk.
    6. Place jar into boiling water bath on stove and let it soak for about 30 minutes. This will extract the warm THC from the cannabis and allow the fat in the milk to absorb it. This portion of the procedure is the most important. Make sure that your apparatus is as follows: Water boiling on stove in a pot, jar with milk and weed placed into boiling water, sit for 30 minutes.
    7. Now take the jar from the cooking pot and let it cool.

Essentially the milk is now an effective medium for THC consumption. It can be consumed plain, as chocolate milk and it can be used as creamer in coffee, tea etc. This recipe was inspired by another recipe on the forum for Green Dragon. This is for those who wish to skip the alcohol and simply get high:smokin:

Thanks for sharing. How many servings would you say this makes?

If this is anything like other ways of ingesting pot I doubt it's an 'instant high'. Probably takes 30 minutes to an hour, but that's just a guess on my part.

I just want to state that I'm a complete both idiot with cooking and with bud, so forgive me for my dumb questions but.....

when you say "headies" are you talking about cheap stuff? Cause I just got some medical for $75 an eigth and I sure wouldn't want to use all this stuff on one drink!! Orrrrr...does this make a lot? Is it meant to be high concentrate so it should be mixed with other drinks?

Orrrr....do most people that cook with cannabis grow their own stuff? Because most of the recipes I've read call for a lot, and I'm not that rich!!

shwagg/reg/whatever you want to call it (Low grade) is perfectly fine for cooking with, and definitely a lot cheaper. Still gets you baked.

So, a whole 1/8th of headies for one serving? Seems kinda wasteful to me... or maybe you just have a much higher tolerance than I do.

Yeah, an 1/8 of headies is a waste for one serving, I only use a gram of headies for my hot cocoa. And you don't have to put the weed in the oven either, it heats up in the milk as it boils. Nor do you have to go through the trouble of using a jar or whatever. Although I do use the a pot of boiling water that I set the pot of milk in and use a gram per serving, so if 3 people are gonna have the hot cocoa, I use 3 cups of milk, usually poor it in the cups that we use first to get the measurement right and 3 grams of headies and slow boil it for an hour and stirring occasionally. And for your recipe, you should do an hour as well, since you're using a full 1/8 of headies on one serving, give it time to absorb all the THC from the herb, the longer the herb is in the milk, the more THC it absorbs.
