Thinking about growing again

Well ive grown cannabis a little before i did 4 crops then the fuzz took everything off me. But i reckon theres no chance they would ever find out if i started to grow again as ive moved house and im keeping out of trouble. So i wanna get a little closet grow on again maybe just 4 plants but the crops i did last time everyone who had a try said it wasnt so good they got stoned but the green didnt smell like green and it didnt taste like green neither so i dont know where i went wrong the plants where great with big dense buds and produced about 2oz each. I used some nutes that where meant for hydroponics called vita link A+B some canna pk 13-14, i used superthrive and occasionally sprayed the plants with nitrozyme so i thought it was pretty much perfect in the plants diet they where under a 400w mh at first for vegging ect then i switched to a 400w hps for flowering also you could smell the green when it was still on the plant its just when i cropped it thats when it went abit funny i admit i didnt let it dry out for as long as i should have and maybe that was a factor. So just wondering whats nutes should i use and has anyone any tips on how i could get my weed tasting like weed and smelling like it to cheers Clu33er Lang :thumbsup:

Sounds good, what type of a set up were you thinking of using?

check out my setup for ideas. It is easy and not very expensive for the the components. A light is another story of course. Its in my signature.

well i was thinking of going soil and about 4 plants with a 400w light just nice and simple. I havent dabbled with hydroponics yet it seems all kinda technical and scary to me what with all the ppm and the ec (think thats what it is) ect ect it seems like it needs some real care and some real equipment i used soil last time i grew well all 4 times and the results where pretty nice apart from the taste and smell also every time i grew i changed the seeds i used but the seeds where cheap 10 seeds for 10 pounds but my bro passed me 2 expensive feminized seeds so thats what made me decide to give it another go should i go hydro or stick with the soil??

did you flash your plant at your last harvest? You should flush all the nutes out of the soil and stop feeding 2-3 weeks before you harvest. If not the bud is gonna smell/taste like shit form all the nasty chems left in the bud. Ive heard that if you water-cure your buds, you can feed all the way up to harvest coz the nutes will come out during the water-cure.

yes i flushed but i stopped using nutes just a week before harvest maybe that was the problem?

It all depends on the nutes you are using. I just got finished with a soil grow where we were using all organic fertz. We used the final stage "grand finale" or something like that up until the last day of flower and the weed tastes great. Only explanation I can come up with is that it was pure organics and we did indeed flush about 2 weeks prior to harvest with just plain water, but still that was 2 weeks. in advanced. If you want to keep it simple and cheap I would recommend going soil again just for convenience. Hydro is not hard or technical, but like you said you need to have the right tools and that costs $$. If you do a little bit of reading on here and go with the right ferts for your use and MAKE SURE you properly flush then there's no way you can't get decent marijuana. Unless of course you have a crappy light but it doesn't sound like you do.
