The letter is very well written but maybe slightly formal at times.I don't know what type of relationship you and your dad have but your playing the wright technique.

I think that if it doesn't work you should just tell him you've stopped even if it's a lie.
If he didn't know you were smoking before he was told by your mom why does he need to know at all?

Disowned By My Dad Because of Marijuana So I got a call from my dad last night and he said my mom told him I was smoking weed and that I wasn't to talk to him until I have quit. I tried to reason with him but it was no use. He kept saying "You were not raised like that" and "It is wrong and illegal."
