When I got my industrial piercing..my dad didn't talk to me for THREE days. I knew he was ALWAYS against piercings and tattoos...it took me 3 years to convince him to let me get a small hoop on my left earlobe...then one day I came home with the cartilage of my ear pierced in two places, all connected by one big long bar...he was PISSED...yelled at me loud as hell..slammed the door...and didn't talk to me for 3 days. Then he startd to say a few things casually but only 'necessary' things like "pass the water" or whatever...then slowly I saw he wanted to accept me again so I began talking to him and he responded and stuff and then less than a week after I got my piercing, it's as if nothing ever happened. He still pokes fun at me and stuff but he never gets upset about it.

Wait I have an idea...can you show your father a link to this thread so that he can see for himself that those who contributed (most of which whom smoke pot) are compassionate, helping, caring, responsible, and overall positive individuals? Let him browse around and he'll see that some of the ones who smoke the most here, are also the ones who are always doing something, such as working extra hours at work, or things like that...to show that besides our not-so-dangerous hobby, we are regular people who have jobs, families, and other responsiblities in our lives that we take care of maturely and reasonably?

That was very wise and thoughtful letter. Good luck with your father. If he really reads the letter, he will know he has a intelligent son who is not harming himself or anyone in his decision.
