Well, he got the letter, read it, and is still mad. I talked to my mom online and she said he told her he feels let down because of my choice to use an illegal drug. I then stated how it should be legal in the first place, and she said it doesn't matter and blah blah blah, the same as every ignorant person says about marijuana. I guess I will just talk to him when it's legalized, a cause I fully intend on fighting for until it is.

thats really sad that he's willing to throw away a relationship with his son because of the lies he's been force feed his whole life. Maybe time will calm him down. Good luck

Well lets not say "no parent in the world", there are plenty of hippy stoner parents out there after all. It's bad enough how so many people believe smoking weed has the equivilant health effects of taking a multi-vitmain x10

I stand by my phrasing above, Mr. D. It's not that us "hippie stoner" parents don't get the absurdity of cannabis laws or perceive its clear benefits. It's that no parents in the world want our children arrested, treated badly by closed-minded cops or courts, jailed, or to have to be at the mercy of our cannabis-misinformed legal system, no matter how meritless the charge.

I didn't acuse you or anyone else of being "hippy stoner parents" btw, my parents let me smoke weed when I started, I'm just saying they're out there. And hey, the lifestyle has its ups and downs.

Dejayou30 i thought your letter was excellent, but was sad (and surprised) to read it had no effect. If you can afford it ? take him to Holland/ Amsterdam ! all that Culture, Art, History, cuisine, co-habiting nicely with a relaxed sensible attitude towards cannabis might just open his eyes a little. Its not so much that I "like to get high," its that I'm 22 years old and can make decisions about my own life. Quitting smoking is not hard to do, I've done it twice before for 40 days and again for 30 days. The fact is that I don't want or need to quit. My life is just fine with it.
