    growing help...all input is appreciated

ok i'm pretty sure yal have answered this question before but her eit goes....ok what would it mean if a plant's bottom leaves (the round ones that first sprout) turn brown and start wilting away? also one other leaf is kind of wilted but still anice green...it was planted dec. 1st and didn't sprout until like 6 days later ....it seems to be a healthy plant it has nice color and nicely developing leaves it's just the two bottom leaves and only part of one of the others....also another one is basicly all wilted leaves but still has a nice green color....it was planted at the same time but it seems to bea really slow grower and very unhealthy.....it's only half the size of the other one and didn't sprout until like 3 days after the healthy one. they are under a single flourescent bulb...(like an inch away from the bulb) with a regular box fan on low setting to help strengthen the stalk. i give them about 3 or 4 sprays of water froma mister a day...just enough to keep the soil moist...

You probably have soil with nutes in it and your are burning the plant away, also the condeledens will wilt away naturally

ok well the bottom leaves is the only really bad part....the other is just a tip of a spike on one of the bigger leaves...and do you know of any remedies to fix the problem?

The first leaves to sprout from seedlings will always die off. Usually around 2 weeks to a month. But the tips of your big leaves should not be brown.. sounds like a bit to much nuts.. Do you check the ph and pph of your soil/water? If you have over nuted by just a little, I would get distilled water from the market. Use this for 2 weeks to play it safe (no nuts). You should stick your finger in the soil.. If you feel any moisture in the top 2 inches you should definitley not be watering.. over nuting and over watering are a major problem with people who LOVE their plants to much : )

what type of light is it? You could be burning the leaf with the water! if it beeds up on the leaf it will magnify the light and make a very hot patch

uh.. I don't think a flourescent can burn a leaf even with a magnifying glass.. hehehe

Brown tips are a sign of over fert.. some growers will fert until they see the tips go brown .. then they will reduce nuts by 20% and that will be their optimal nutrient (pph) level...

ok thanx...well they aren't getting any worse....so i guess things are going to be ok....i've been monitoring it closely for any advancement of the problem and i have seen none....and the leaf seems to be getting it's color back....and i guess that means that i don't need to fert it right now

The cotyledons are the little round leaves. No nutrients is needed at all until they yellow. I still fertilize before they are yellow though.
