Oh, Frank, give Image Reaper my love and my best wishes. I can't think of anyone I enjoyed seeing online better--or anyone I miss more and still grieve for! I think the world of him. It makes my heart happy to know he's still in touch with you and has a fun hybrid "project" going. I hope his health is good and his pain under control. I know he'll be pleased to know the skull logo has been replaced with a better one. Y'all take care!

he's doing better, health-wise - he is recovering from a recent knee replacement, so he's a little easier to get along with, now, LOL - I post messages for him, he can Log-In, but can't post messages - ? - he sends his best to you

When new members (or returning banned posers) sign up to be admitted as members, the mods have to go in and approve or disapprove those new members. We click on the applicants' IP addresses and can immediately see if they have any alternate identities. Then we check those other identities to see if any of them are banned. If they are, we deny the membership. We have other ways, too, but that's our main way.

Some members in good standing have more than one identity, so we have a few duplicate identities anyway, which usually doesn't cause problems. It is possible for banned members to sign up for a new member account through a different IP address on a different PC or IP account so the IPs don't match when we cross-check them during approval, making the returnee seem like an all-new member instead of a returning poser. So occasionally returnees come back and slip under the wire that way. They nearly always manage to give themselves away, however, and get banned again anyway. Most of our chronic "bannees" have very distinct personalities, anger problems, and writing styles, which are fairly easy to quickly detect.

On a few occasions, banned members return with a new identity and new behavior, and we let them proceed, especially if they've been long-time members and they really do seem to have turned over a new leaf. As long as they're being civil, I don't personally have a problem with that. I can think of three of those folks off the top of my head who're active members now and are behaving themselves after a fairly colorful banishment history. I'm sure there are probably others if I think a bit longer.

    Sorry for the long answer!
 I think its been way too long....let him return...

I don't think he was banned, in fact, I'm almost positive he left on good terms - he said when he left, that he deleted all his personal profile info, for security's sake, maybe that's what screwed his account up ?? - he can Log in OK, but nothing beyond that - can't post, can't access extra features, etc. - I don't think he cares one way or the other, but it would save me from a lot of typing, LOL

Hmm, well, let's see if Sundance can come along and perhaps hazard a guess about what the problem might be if the theory I espouse below isn't correct. The Image Reaper's deletion/change of his account info probably is contributing to the problem.

In the mod panel, his status says "user awaiting email confirmation," which usually means that he was sent the standard automatic email by our system when he changed his account info and/or changed his email address. That "users awaiting email confirmation" description shows up when a member hasn't yet acknowledged the email sent by our system, which requests that he click on a link to confirm his new account information/email address as accurate. He definitely left in good standing and isn't banned.

I vaguely remember that The Image Reaper had a different email address than the one he has listed now. Listed on his account currently is an email address with the word "vanished" in it. My guess is when he cleaned out his profile info, left behind that new email adress, and departed, he probably never went back to that email address to click on the link in the message our system sent out to confirm those changes.

If that's not the problem, then it may be a matter of Sundance checking into this situation and perhaps resetting The Image Reaper's membership, which is easy enough to do. Frank, see if he can check into that email account and see if he still has a message from our system. He can also write to me at birdgirl73 at pot.com if he has any questions.

Yes, you are correct...its the CRS on my part....I now remember that he did leave on several counts of his own...I stand corrected..went looking for the last post of his...but all in all it would be nice to have him back..His posts and his growing experience of 40 plus years is missed by many..

I say again, no matter what the offense, or reason let him return...

Reaper said to thank you for the kind words - he says he has never had any e-mail address with the word 'vanished' in it, or anything like it ... he is as puzzled as anyone - he's a computer techie, among other things, so it probably isn't anything easily found - ?? - unless he decided to say goodbye that way ??, dunno, I didn't think to ask him about that
