Not really but after reading your comment below now I see where you are coming from.

I will easily give you that one. The press has spent too much time in front of her house and courthouse. The press spent hours on Friday on Paris watch. The press is still talking about it. I would have been happy to have just seen no coverage on it but the pic of her crying and a quick blurb about how she is going back. I'm not going to talk about the efforts and waste of time and money by the DA yet.

If you want to talk about principals then look closely at LA sheriff Lee Baca. He was the one who released her despite the court order stating no home confinement, no electronic monitoring. When he released her he helped open this can of worms. What could be his motivation for releasing her. At first he said medical condition coupled with overcrowding caused the release. Wait, she didn't have a cellmate. Can't be that crowed can it? So let's look at this little statement about Baca's campaign.

Sheriff Lee Baca accepted a $1,000 campaign donation last year from William Barron Hiltonā??Paris's grandfather. That contribution constituted the maximum amount allowable under California campaign rules.
In office since 1998, Baca has cultivated close ties to the Hollywood community. Others who donated money to his campaign last year included Rupert Murdoch, Les Moonves, Ron Meyer, Brad Grey, Steven Segal, and Burt Bacharach. He was assailed last year over a claim by the Sheriff's Department that Mel Gibson had been arrested without incident, when the star had actually spewed anti-Semitic statements after getting pulled over for drunk driving. It soon emerged that Gibson had taped a public service announcement for Baca's relief committee.

It could be about money and greed after all Skink, the greed and wallet of Baca.

So should she go free and the DA and judge ignore it because it might cost too much money and the press are going to spend too much time? Well I feel for the taxpayers of LA county and California so I would like to see how much that hearing on Friday cost. However, right now I don't think that she should have been ignored because then that would be sending the message that a double standard does exist: If your family gives the sheriff a donation then he can make it difficult for the judge to impose sentence so here for $1000 a year you too can get out of DUI. I could afford that but that doesn't make it right.
