walmart sucks for a/cs
go to lowes....
story: thismorning i was woken up by our a/c spazzing out... we have a new model window a/c where everything is digital... anwyays, for some reason, ours decided to start freaking out about at about 7-8 in the morning (after i had about 4-5 hours sleep) the thermastat was literally going up and down on it's own at a speed of about 10 degrees a second? it kept going from like 64 up to 87, and would 'beep' a few more times (it beeded when you pressed any button, remote or on the a/c itsself) then start goign back down to 64, and would keep repeating this process... no settings changed this, and after about 5 minutes it'd turn off (but the display would still be on, the display is only on when the unit is on? but the unit would shut down except the display) anyways.... after some fighting with the wife (she'd just gone ot sleep and she can be a real 'bitch' if she gets woke up <.< ) i finally go outta the room cuz i'm starting to sweat like fucking crazy, and tell my grandma what's going on, and ask if i can borrow money from her to get a new one (we're in tx, living without a/c is NOT an option) and of course she does (i got over 6k coming, so she knows i can pay her back)
but yeah, our old a/c was 9,000 BTU and was about 300 bucks... the original plan was to go to walmart and (which is where we bout the 9k 300$ one from in the first place) and get the same one, so i could leave the installed case still in the window and i just had to switch out the 'guts' thus saving alot of time and moving... but all they had in stock was an 18,000 btu 230 volt (which ours doesn't work) and some 5,000 but units (which i've had and didn't keep my room cold enough) so we go to lowes... found a 10,500 BTU unit for 204 bucks, 20 something bucks for the extended warranty, so for quite a bit less, we got 1,500 more BTU's cooling power and a 5 year IN HOME warranty, meaning if it breaks down durring normal use in 5 years, i just call, and they send someone to fix it.... considering we're poor usually, that's fucking great!
so fuck walmart if you're planning on going there for a/c window units.... just go straight to lowes...slipknotpsycho Reviewed by slipknotpsycho on . walmart sucks for a/cs go to lowes.... story: thismorning i was woken up by our a/c spazzing out... we have a new model window a/c where everything is digital... anwyays, for some reason, ours decided to start freaking out about at about 7-8 in the morning (after i had about 4-5 hours sleep ) the thermastat was literally going up and down on it's own at a speed of about 10 degrees a second? it kept going from like 64 up to 87, and would 'beep' a few more times (it beeded when you pressed any button, remote or Rating: 5

Wal * Mart is the only game in town here,,,they are very convenient... You have to buy the air conditioners in the fall and you can practically steal it around hear,,, buy heaters in the spring... I got a great outdoor lounge chair last fall for 5 bucks and a nice shovel for 3... I guess this would not apply in a place that was always hot... I'd be hard pressed to find a cheaper AC in Lowes either,,,maybe it's a regional thing...
