How is your uncle going to get the DOT to require this as standard equipment? It seems like it takes forever to get new safety equipment to be required --- airbags were around forever before being required, and I still don't think anti-lock brakes and traction control are required.
perhaps... but since when has one single invention ever been the only one? all patenting does is protect your exact design, not the general idea...

i'm sorry i don't have all the logistics and answers, i don't really talk to him much since i live with my dad's side of the family, and this uncle is on my mom's side, as well as in another city...

but he is patenting his idea and has already been told by the DOT his design will become standard on 18 wheelers upon finishing his patent and possibly starting to get them produced... and i also never said it wasn't taking a long time.... especially since he's not already rich i'ts taking even longer to gather the money to patent them (i think there are 3 patents all together, he has one done for sure, was working on the 2nd last tiem i heard) and this whole process started years ago....

btw, it would cost a great deal more to outfit a car/truck/whatever with anti lock brakes, traction control, and airbags that didn't have them to begin with, then a simple mirror wiper... which could also have alooooooot to do with why those saftey features aren't required while this will be.
