i am a big fan of both weed and lord of the rings and from reading the books i dont think he meant marijuana, and i dont think tolkien was high to write it. it is possible to have an imagination without weed...

yeah mate, someone bought me the extended edition dvds, and i used to get blazed and watch them for fucking hours. they do go well together, i must say...

I found that entire story a little stale and boring. Wow, a magic ring that goes on for like 8 hours. Zzzzzz...

But I do enjoy the very last one, Return of the King. When it's about 30 minutes in, then those battles go on for a good hour or so, then the last half hour I don't care about.

I don't think it's so much Tolkein referrencing the weed, but Peter Jackson. Tolkien even specified that it was "tabac" in the books, but maybe Jackson was just getting with the times and shifting (indirectly) to weed.:jointsmile:

i looove those movies. never saw em baked though. my friends up at school have this big house (but kinda crappy.. still sweet tho) and they are having one day when they first go up there to smoke maaaddddd blunts and watch the 3 movies and order a lot of food... i think i might hafta take a trip there for that one :jointsmile:
