I see just as much wanting for a nanny state on the republican side as the dems, just under the guise of different reasonings.


I also think that the term liberal is ok, but I'd definitely despise being called a democrat (which I'd assume most people would call me if i were in the states).

You never know, they might call you anything. Being a Democrat most of my life (I'm an independent, whatever that means) I don't feel it's a badge of dishoner. In fact I'd say lately with all the scandal in the repube party they are the more dishonorable party. Why Canadians think they have a say in our politics is beyond me. You don't see americans posting opinions about your politics. I'd say, look to your own government and keep them as honest as you can before you end up with this mess we have down here.

Oddly, candians seem to feel they have a right to express their opinions on anything they damb well please. Oh, wait, they do.

I didn't say that I had a say, but why not talk about it? If you followed Canadian politics you'd probably have fun discussing it.

Seeing as i don't have television (I have a tv, but no cable or channels at all) I get a few different news feeds on American politics delivered to my google reader. I haven't been able to find a decent Canadian one yet, which sucks, because I'd like to learn a lot more about Canadian Politics.

But I do agree, that "republican" is a worse name than "democrat" right now, just all the shit that's been happening is crazy.
