I've been listening to it almost every day since I got it a few weeks ago, it's called "Fiction". I'm surprised to say this, but it's become my favorite album of theirs yet! I think they've finally solidified their sound, tightened everything up and given us all the best parts that we found scattered throughout previous DT albums. The opening riff on the first song is just damn addictive, the second "lesser faith" is just amazing, "Terminus (Where Death Seems To Dwell)" just has such a nice "groove" to it (that's amazing on *ahem* certain substances that enhance socialization and mood). There's 3 songs out of the 10 that I really don't care for, but that's to be expected. Also, their closer "The Mundane and the Magic" was just amazing, the most beautiful song I've heard from them yet. If you're wonding who that female guest vocalist is, it's Nel Siglund who's the new singer from Theatre Of Tragedy (their newest album "storm" is pretty kick-ass IMO).

If you don't know what I'm talking about, Dark Tranquillity are arguably the inventors of the Gothenburg (or "Melodic Death Metal") genre, and IMO far exceeding In Flames in talent, inovation, addictive riffs especially, and overall higher quality. Not the same thing as IF at all actually, so don't judge their sound by comparing them to In Flames when I say they're "Gothenburg".

So anybody else heard this album? Thoughts? If you haven't, I really recommend you do. DT is one of my all-time favorite bands.
