New Member, Ready to Grow?
Hello everyone, Im new here and didnt want to bother you guys without doing my research so I did all I could before posting.
Im only going to have 1-2 plants because of very limited space.
I had two ideas,
Option A was taking a small fish tank I have and covering the sides with mylar, then taking a thicker peice of cardboard thus sealing the fishtank.
Then I would put a compact fluorescent bulb (27 watt) to the top. I hooked up a outdoor christmas light timer to the bulb, so that way I can control how much light the plant/s get.
Then I would take a small computer fan that I already purchased and put that on the cardboard side of the growing area.
That would provide ample light and enough air movement, but the problem I have is with space.
The height is around 22 inches and the width and depth are around 9 inches.
Im not sure if I can grow anything with such little space so I thought of option B.
Option B consisted of taking plywood and constructing a box out of it, but the dimentions would be 36 inches tall, 9 inches deep and up to 50 inches wide. Then I would do the same thing I described earlier.
Smell wont be that much of a problem as I'll only be growing 1-2 plants, and will plug in one of those Fabreeze fans to keep my closet smelling nice and fresh.
I was planning on growing a hybrid, as I dont have that much space to deal with. I also cant really find seeds anywhere, although I'v been scouting the bud iv been buying. I also cant ship it to my house (parents) so Im just going to try to plant the ones I find in my bud. Any ideas how I can get some?
Iv tried my best to research everything before posting,
Im open to all suggestions and criticisms.
This will be my first time growing so all help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Just please don't say you are going to grow in your Parents home and you don't want them to find out. That would be a problem here.
First you need to figure out how you want to grow and the size of your grow area and your budget. Then you can go from there, but I suggest dirt grow for your first time.

I dont mind using dirt,
Ill just put it in a larger pot.
Considering how I'm building everything,
I have around 150-200 dollars to spend,
I already bought 2 computer fans with AC adaptors,
and I already bought 3 100 Watt CFLs.
I have a carbon scrubber all ready built,
so my only thing holding me back is the seeds.
Also which plant should I be growing?
I was thinking northern lights, as they seem to be noob friendly,
but Ill only have 36 inches of height space to work with,
and 9 inches of depth.
The length of my box will be 50-60 inches though.
Would you guys recommend I go with Option B, and grow 2 (?) Northern Lights plants?

9 inches is pretty small for depth......could you go any bigger?

9 inches is the biggest I can make my box,
it'll be 50-60 in length,
but do you think 9 is too little space for a plant?

my opinion is its too small for a seed plant, if it were a clone that was really small when flowered i could possibly see it working. I think it will grow but it will out grow the 9 inch depth and probably stress itself out because it cant stretch out the way it naturally would. :twocents:

well
if I made it less length,
I could make the box whatever dimentions wanted,
just id want it as small as possible.
Im thinking 36 in height,
20 in depth,
36 in length?
