best type of metal if you ask me if you are talking about the stonerish type over the funeral type. like i love sabbath i hate my dying bride. i love electric wizard and sleep. come my fanatics is the best doom album of all time to me excepting black sabbath as not a doom band, rather an influence.

I used to listen to ALOT of stoner doom. I forgot all the names of the bands though lol. I remember Electric Wizard, something with a K, some weird name, The Sword, uhh, Mango Chango or something lol, Eyehategod.

kyuss maybe? that could be the one with the k. if you feel like splitting hairs they are stoner metal but not doom. candlemass is the only like eerie style doom i ever listen to, if you dont know them give them a listen.

YES KYUSS! I have a Candlemass CD too. Its ok I guess, not my favorite to listen to though.

I'm not really too much for doom metal. I like ambient black metal though, if that counts for anything.

Yeah lol. Like who though? Bands who have ambient keyboards mixed in with their black metal, or those who have both black metal albums and ambient ones such as Burzum or Ildjarn?
