Hey all ,
Esp. Shovelhandle - I think I remember catching in 1 of your posts / threads about top dressing your dirt plants w/ wormcastings . I'm curious how much you use and when ? I'm in the begining of the 5th week of flower and getting some yellow already from N def. during flowering . Any help / input is greatly appreciated .

How come that doesn't sound so disgusting when you make it into something wet and call it Liquid Karma or something?

ive done it, mine says to use about 1/4 cup per ten inch pot. then i guess when you water the nutrients just leach into the soil. you can also make a tea with it.

Why not premix it in the soil instead of add it later, there are much better liquid nutrient sources

MegaOctane- If you just mix it into your soil won't all of the nutrients be used up and leeched out by the time your plants reach week five of flowering?
I'm interested in using this at the end of flower too. Shov and twoguysupnorth, you said you've done it, what was your experience, and will you do it again (plus any other pointers)?
Where is the tea recipie?
Thanks, Bree

damn pc, this will be the third time writing this. lol. i should have said that i havnt used castings that late in flowering, this is my first time using them. they are 2 wks into flowering and look better than my previous times did at this stage. keeko is right it would be hard to overdo it with castings. i mixed it in the soil before planting, again when i transplanted and used it as a top dressing just before putting them into flower. i wouldnt hesitate to use them im sure i will, especially if there was a deff. there is a lot if info out there on compost teas, its just what it sounds like. some add there material in a bag, i didnt because it didnt matter if there were floaties in it. i just mixed it into water and let it sit for a while. it goes stagnant pretty quick so use it soon, or you can add a fish bubbler to keep it areated.

Hey, guys. Soil is interesting.
Zandor does a several-part series on "Preparing your garden for spring" in his podcast The Grow Report I think they are in the 30s...like podcast numbers 30-35 or something. You can look at The Grow Report or Dopefiend.co.uk: The Web's Favourite Cannabis Podcast Network for the descriptions and download all of them. In those podcasts, he describes exactly how to set up and maintain your own worm bed for your own personal outdoor OR indoor garden.
When you make that bed, you can produce your own worm castings and collect them. You will also produce a pure worm tea byproduct plus you can make more with the worm castings and use this on/in your soil. He goes through the entire process. It is very informative. If considering using worm castings, I highly recommend listening to these podcasts.
Be cool...be wormey.
