Lol you must have smoked a lot. Sounds like you were FUCKED up.

Haha, and I only mean that in a positive sense of course.
Spikedjester Reviewed by Spikedjester on . Fast Heartbeat bad trip? One time for me personally I got really really high and it felt like my heart was super sped up. A lot faster, not just the little bit that bud does. And then it makes you have a terrible trip because it hurts and your afraid your gonna have a heart attack. It lasted the whole time. That was about 6 months ago. Today me and my friend blazed out of my new icecatcher and he took a fat rip and got so fucked off of it, anyway he started complaining that his heart was hurting really bad and Rating: 5

Just tell yourself that nobody has ever died from an overdose of cannabis, so why would you? Also, tell yourself that you did it to have fun, not to have a panic attack and have a shitty, tormenting time. It could be that you were overwhelmed... that's why it happened. Perhaps you've never been that high before? I think the rapid heart beat is either completely fake (as in, it's all in your head), or you're just scaring yourself, so your heart beats faster. Afterall, when you're scared, your heart does beat faster. If you're not scared, why would it? Also, Reaper666, I agree that what you said can happen, but I believe this is just the result of an overwhelming high. The trick is to calm yourself down. Cheerz.

P.S. I noticed that with sativa strains this happens more often. Try an indica strain if you just can't get this to stop.

I basically stopped reading after this post. He's right. It's all in your head. Once it starts, you begin to panic, and it just gets ridiculous. This ruined quite a few potentially awesome experiences when I first started smoking bud. I'd suggest focusing on something interesting in your surroundings. This provides a distraction, so the little men in your head will stop focusing on your heartbeat, and wander off in a daze, trying to figure out how the stain on that man's shirt got there. Oh shit, he's realized we're grillin' him. Load the torpedoes! Put the engines in reverse! But captain, we're too fucking stoned, we can't work efficiently! Besides, that man couldn't hurt a fly. I've known my father all my life, and he's never resorted to violence. He's a good man. Without my father, we wouldn't be eating a large buffalo tender basket with fries and onions rings right now. We'd be in the sahara.

Alright buds, don't give up, eventually you will either get used to it, which will cause you to forget it eventually, or you will learn how to trick yourself into forgetting all about it! Also remember, it happens to a good percentage of smokers, so you're not gonna' die.

    Fast Heartbeat bad trip?

that shit used to happen to me almost every time i smoked when i only smoked like once a month.

stopped happening once i started smoking a lot more, and now on the rare occasion that i do freak out, i actually enjoy it. my heart starts racing and after bugging out for a few minutes i end up glued to my couch or laying on the floor spinning in circles.

haha i hope i'm not the only one...

This phenomenon is happening more and more - I blame it on the hybrid types that are being grown - maybe not all of them, but a lot. While I admire the ability of these growers to push the envelope, their strains are just not "natural" anymore, and our bodies are telling us itâ??s too much.

This racing heart effect and feeling of impending doom rarely, if ever, happened to smokers with outdoor-grown, imported stuff years ago. Even the very strongest stuff, and best hash, didn't produce bad experiences at the rates and levels that the new types do. Anybody that remembers Thai Stick, various Hawaiians, and other classic sativa can attest to their pleasant qualities - without the nasty side effects so many people are having from a lot of todayâ??s products.

P.S. - I agree that "trip" is not a word that should be associated with the effects of pot. Maybe "trip-like", in some cases, but even that's pushing it.

well this happens to me but idk what it used to be like because when I started smoking that stuff was already out there. But I'm with you, I don't like the weed thats 99.999999 percent THC. It's getting harder and harder to find the regular weed too. But the high thc stuff is too much and too expensive.

Most of the time when your heart speeds up it is because you have either don't smoke that often or took a break. Or just never smoked before. It's really nothing to stress just try not to let it worry you too much.

It got to the point with me, due to side effects, that I needed a tranquilizer to enjoy even a very small amount - so I pretty much stopped because it defeats the purpose. I don't know if my age has much to do with it, because younger people are getting the same side effects. I just know that this wasn't happening until the past five or ten years - and it became pretty much intolearable for me starting last year. I call these hybrid super-strong varieties "Frankenstein" strains.

Even years ago, few people smoked the strongest stuff all the time. For everyday use Columbian was fine, and before that Mexican or Jamaican. Skunk was a good-enough replacement for these, but that's hard to find now also - probably because the suppliers can't make as much on it. Since they can sell a fraction of the weight of the super-strong designer strains for the same amount of money, why bother to carry milder varieties?

I'd grow my own, indoors, but I have very old electrical wiring and not enough room in my place.
