Need Some Advice on CFLs
MedMan - Here's a foto of what your Master Kush should look like. Notice the difference? This plant was grown under cfl's, but a whole lot more than you have going.
Here's a couple tips on cfl's - First of all, stop with the equivelant watts talk, unless you want to smoke "equivelant bud" (that's where you get an 1/8th and tell yourself it's an oz.). Seriously, tho, everyone here talks about cfl's in "real watts" and if you are talking equivelant watts ... well you can see where that would lead.
If the bulbs you are looking at state the color range, you want around 6,000K for veg and around 2,500 for flower. If the bulbs dpon't say the spectrum, you want "cool white" or "daylight" for veg, and whatever else they have for flower. (When you turn the bulbs on, the veg bulb will look very white and the flower bulb will look very yellow.
All that being said, 600 watts of cfl's is going to put out just about as much heat as 600 watts of hps. Get, or make, a cool tube and get some light on those plants of yours!!! There's a couple of good DIYs on cool tubes in the FAQ section and you can build one real cheap.
Good luck!!!
