I worked in lower NYC for over 20 years, and was there on 9/11, a few blocks from the WTC. After the second plane hit, I headed home and met an architect on the subway. He told me that the buildings would collapse, straight down, because they were designed to react that way if the structures were severely compromised for any reason. Because of the heat, he had no doubt that they would collapse. When I got home and turned on the TV, exactly what he predicted happened.
