Yay, my first solo organic reaction!

Everyone congratulate me, I just made diazomethane by myself for the first time. It is used to prep samples of animal tissues and fluids for pesticide analyisis. Ima go analyze me some pesticides now!
Pic is the reactor and distillation apparatus before all the chemicals are added. The iceberg is to keep the shit from exploding, which it likes to do when heated, jostled, or exposed to strong light or any sharp object including scratches on the glassware!

    Academia.... *sigh*
I can't get into it- too easy to track me down as it's pretty unique research- but pesticides in human food sources didn't end with the DDT ban.
