    24/0 vs. 18/6

I've tried 24/0 - 20/4 - 18/6 and have noticed very little dif. in speed of growth etc... I currently use 20/4 - I like to give bulbs - ballasts - blowers etc... a break as to help w/ equips. longevity .

    24/0 vs. 18/6

I heard somewhere that 24/0 isn't that great as plants need to rest or something not sure, I've always stuck with 18/6 as I like my plants to sleep

    24/0 vs. 18/6

I don't know I run 18/6. Tried 24/0 I can't tell a diffrence. I read a post on here (can't find it again I looked) that said 16 hours light will produce more females. I don't know if that is true but if one of the mods read this maybe they would be able to shine a little light on the subject..

Cannabis is a C3 plant. It doesn't need dark to photosynthesize. So if you have 6 hours of dark, you are cutting growth rate down by 1/4.

Electric bill, giving the ballasts a rest, etc...That's fine. But the plant doesn't need dark.

    24/0 vs. 18/6

Well Ed Rosenthal...a highly respected name in cannabis growing...in all 4 of his books i have says 24/0 is the way to go for vegging...like the dude above said 18/6 is 25% less photosynthesis...i've tried both and honestly believe 24/0 gives plants a little bit more girth in the stems with more node regions and a bushier stature...but then again what the hell do i kno

    24/0 vs. 18/6

Im not able to comment on this question, as i dont have the experience of trying different light cycles.
But i happened to come across a thread yesterday that you may want to look at?
The part i thought was very interesting, was the information supplied by Chronic Chrissy, 5 posts down the thread.

Its only food for thought, and it was enough to tempt me away from 24/0 but everybody has their own thoughts

    24/0 vs. 18/6

I think the only diff i notice from 24/0 and 18/6 was that the stems were a little thicker on 18/6. On 24/0 on the other hand, I would say it grew a little taller.

Chrissy is right, but i still would only do a night period for fresh cut clones or seedlings. I veg my mom's under 24/0 to avoid root bound plants. I don't replant often . . .
