The Russian Revolution; Cultural Revolution, Stalin??s ??Revolution From Above?, and NEP all have had their effects upon Russian society. The Bolshevik??s leaders transformed the internal apparatus of Russian government and society through the use of Marxism during their time of 1917 October Revolution through Stalin??s ??Revolution From Above.? Sheila Fitzpatrick??s book; ??The Russian Revolution? takes the argument it was a denial of revolutionary goals that changed Russia.
The first five year plan was to modernize Russia into an industrial society and socialize Russian society. When Lenin took over as leader of the Bolshevik party he held firmly on to contemplation of Marxism. Changing the government and the social structure of the Russian society was the concern for social equality which Lenin was introducing to Russians; the process of the First Five year Plan was not introduced by Lenin alone. Lenin would have liked to continue the revolution to its fullest extent but his health wouldn??t have allowed it. The Five Year Plan was eventually introduced by Joseph Stalin in 1921 in response to economical condition inside Russia through the tutelage of Lenin??s. Through the use unautocratic society Lenin developed NEP this would be difficult govern the populace of Russia into a communistic society with out this use. Lenin idea??s helped guide the country into economical stability for the Russian society??s labor class, solders, and peasant class. Stalin used NEP for industrialization of the Russian economy through mass steal production this is arguably the deciding factor to Lenin and Stalin??s ideas of the NEP. Lenin used strategic retreat of NEP during his power to control the Bolshevik party into continuing the revolution and to help equalize peasantry, intelligentsia and bourgeoisie thus calming the classes with in Russia. Leisure of trade and industry control was a must for Lenin to help the classis with in Russia to socialize. The plan helped to introduce collectivism for all Russians with key interests in agriculture and labor for economic growth; Lenin made it clear his politics need not be comfortable, but stern and callous to help define the course they were to take for Russia. Lenin did this with full control of the behind-scene politics in which he masterfully controlled the revolutionary party Bolsheviks into power thus laying the foundation of a socialistic government. Lenin took issue with forming a government because of Marxism, changing the people to self-rule by council and peers were his true objective for socialism.
Lenin??s introduction of Collectivism with in Russia was apart of ??The Five Year Plan.? The idea was to have collective farming with the rural area??s, with shared property and shared farm lands. The belief was the people as a whole of Russian??s could maximize out put of agriculture while nationalizing the country during adolescent years of socialism influences with the intent to distributing these durable goods non durable goods to all Russians. Lenin ideas were visionary; he led the country out of the First World War realizing the need to isolate the country while transforming it into socialism Russia. Lenin would need the control of the Bolshevik party to help collectivism with in Russia peasant and labor classes. The Bolshevik party helped neutralize the class differences and slowly change Russia and its economics, social structure of the country in pre-war conditions thus allowing a slower transition of NEP. Lenin had the foresight to know that using Proletariat dictatorship during his leadership to help control and define the opposition and the use of Marxism and installing this ideology was needed for strong leadership to accomplish socialism with in Russia. In doing so Lenin was able to introduce agricultural farming and structured social labor for the peasant and labor classes over a longer period of time. Lenin??s constant manipulation of the Bolshevik party and the revolution of Russia helped define Lenin attention to the Russian Revolution movement.
The Cultural Revolution was the because of Lenin and his inability to keep control of his leadership role with in the Bolshevik party as his health was ailing. Stalin, his pupil since at least the October Revolution helped define much of the Russian Society from Lenin??s ailing health Stalin used capitalistic influences that Lenin wouldn??t have agree with. Stalin used Lenin??s techniques of Proletarian influence to mastermind the Culture in Russia; building of huge factories in key isolated location within Russia. Additionally this was the revolution of Stalin??s ??Revolution From Above? that lead to the Kulaks class insolvency unlike Lenin, Stalin believe that a quick annihilation of classes would help drive the Industrial Revolution of Russia. Factories helped isolate classes with in Russia because of the locations. Part of ??The Fiver Year Plan? was moving peasantry to the factories causing suburban sprawl and introducing education for Russians which caused an upward movement of class??s; shifting the influences of class??s excluding that of the old regime of intellectuals, bourgeois, and liberalism. Stalin??s opposition of the ??Right,? Stalin??s upward movement in economy and the education system through the use of a cultural army and proletarian government and helped institutionalize the country, thus framing the foundation of a Communistic government. Unlike Stalin, Lenin used Marxism to change Russian society while Stalin chose decisive action against the opposition struggle of the ??Right.? To crush the uprising of revolutionary tendencies the populace of Russia had. Stalin chose the same behind the scene tactics that Lenin used to dismantle the opposition beurcractic tendencies which were not inline with the socialistic movement of the Bolshevik Party. It was because of Stalin socialism changed to dictatorship though he thought the process out much like Lenin had tutored him this changed Lenin??s October Revolution. The Cultural Revolution was that of workers and administrative jobs through out the government that brought the opportunity to jump from one class to another for self-serving interests of its people.
In short Sheila Fitzpatrick, ??The Russian Revolution? gives clear insight of two men with one vision of Marxism; changing Russian society into Collectivism using revolutions, politics, and industry??s, classes, and people to transform Russian Society. However it was Stalinism that detoured from the socialism that Lenin wanted through out the Russian society. It was Stalinism that chose the defined the Communistic dictatorship with in Russia thus rejecting the process of revolutionary goals set forth by Lenin during the October Revolution.
