    Helicopters + thermal imaging

I'm looking for the answers. I have good carpenter skills so I could throw pretty much anything together.

Since the hot spot would be a radius of some sort around the MH or HPS bulb. I was thinking of using a regular fridge but keeping the freezer in tact to block the hot spot & use the fridge as a box for growing. Turning the fridge to a low cool to keep plants from over heating + a fridge has it's own venting system. It's basically a climate controlled box to keep food fresh why not make it for a climate control box for growing.

I dont know, the idea is still fresh. I just want to be safe and non-suspicious.

been busted once, probation is hell. How I got busted was a total fluke that will never happen again. real bad luck indeed.
    Next time will be perfect

What do you guys think? is this a stupid idea or can this work you think.

you dont have to worry about helicopters picking up heat unless you have a room full of 1000 watts with no ventilation. Helicopters could careless about a closet grow, and im sure they only use the heat sensors to pick up people hiding. The roof of your house is hot enough to blind the sensors from even looking inside your house, so u dont have to worry about anything. I was growing with 2 1000 watts, with ventilation, and helicopters flew over my house at least once a day, and nothing happened to me! If i were you id get a closet, a refrigerator may get extremely hot, seeing as how its practically air tight. Dont worry about the choppers, worry about people finding out, thats the main issue! Good luck!

forgot something, how are you gonna keep a 100 degree light cooled without making it too cold for the plants? you need something to be pulling heat off of the light, which means you need to drill into the refrigerator, and im sure thats not fun. Either that refrigerator is gonna get extremely hot, or too cold. getting a temp of 75-85 deg will be hella hard to attain with a refrigerator.

thermal imaging works only at night so running the light during the day will solve that. an exhaust fan disapating the heat works just vent it in an area near the water heater, house heater or fireplace. Insulation, fiber glass in between the construction with 2 inch stryofoam panels over it will block most of the heat transfer. remember nothing is perfect , nothing. most busts are from someone with a big mouth so tell no one you are growing, trust no one. if you could hide a cow then you could grow safely, hiding a cow also means hiding the food , water, waste and sounds, there's never a perfect way, it's what you can live with with out the worrying. It takes a while to be comfortable if ever. good luck

man thats one of the must paranoid threads i had ever read... at day, a helicopter cant watch under a house roof, or at least, it wont pass over 1 floor, if you are thinking into growing in your basement, its impossible for them to see whats cooking... if you try to isolate the heat, what you are gonna create is an oven, and first you are gonna kill the plants as soon as they pop out, and second you can cause a fire in your house, wich wont be cool at all...

the other thing, to have the fridge the way you want to use it, it dosnt sounds bad ,but i dont know how well will you control the heat...
if you are in probation, be carefull for any serch warrant... dont worry about helicopters, cia, fbi, dea, or even kgb spys... the problem is that you dont pull any suspicios anyhow...
i dont know if i were you i would grow no more than 4 plants in a closet... with 1 hps of maybe 250 wats, and a couple cool fluros..
If i made any noise in your head, then i am acomplishing my mission

100 degree light and 50 degreee fridge = 70 something maybe. Fridge only on when light is on. light may get condensation on it. A sawzall will cut anything almost a hole for the cord Maybe an extra vent system in the back of it. I can see it. If it is to cold I can have a timer for the fridge to turn off and on periodically.

It sounds crazy but just might be my next personall stash. The closet growing is fun too.

Last week I saw on TV, helicopter doods pointing out this guys attic was glowing compared to everyone elses. It was easy to see. This guy prolly had 1000w in his attic.

Anyways I'm not on PB anymore. Besides the outdoor growing I'm going to do I know there has to be a perfect way to grow inside with faulty closets incognito.

A massive exhaust fan.. can cure major heat issues.. bring fresh cool air from your your crawl space and blow hot air out the roof/attic. Circulation is KEY!!! Good Luck : )

Good news Juan. The Supreme Court has made it so that a search warrant must be obtained before thermal imaging can happen. So they have to have probable cause to look at you in the first place. If they are imaging your grow pad, they have OTHER evidence and an investigation is underway! A high power bill does not create proable cause if you pay the bill ON TIME! Some people grow LEGAL plants and the sherrif kicking the door down to see whats growing under those lights is OUT in the court system today, I assure you! And, Thank God, too, that we still have the fouth ammendment!
