Outside to Inside - any Ideas?

I am two weeks from harvesting four indicas from my closet garden. I have two eight week old sativas growing in five gallon containers in my backyard, but due to neighbors nosiness and lighting issues, cannot leave them outside for too much longer. I was planning on bringing them into my closet when the current crop is harvested. I have never done this before, and was wondering if anyone had any advice about this. Will they be able to handle the HID? I have a 175W MH and a 400W HPS - I was thinking of just using the 175 MH for a few more weeks of veg and then switch to the HPS, as I hope they should have adjusted to the HID by then. Is there anything else I should consider? I never thought these seeds would even germinate, but they did and appear to be female. Thanks to all of you for any & all advice.

PS - I also posted this in the "Basic Growing" section before I saw this one.:stoned:

ive always done it the other way around. it should be fine brining them in, just watch for bad bugs that might make it to your indoor grow room

I hear you. I was going to spray my closet (actually, a small hard-plastic shed I bought at Osh - 6.5' x 2' x 2') before bringin them in, then spray the plants after they're in. Any advice on the lights? Should I go 12/12 with the 175W MH? Or a full 24 for awhile? Also, how close should the plants be to the lights at first?

quick question, can you not leave them outside to flower?.....that would really be the best for the plants. but if i had to bring them in, depending on size i would probably flower them with the 400. since the suns light cycle is not 24/7 here if you were to bring them back in and put them in 24/7 it could shock and stress your plants, it could work but the chance of them becoming hermies are more likely. and as for how close the light should be, as close as possible without the tops burning, just put your hand under the light and lower your hand until it doesnt burn it....that should be alright for your plants. good luck

hang a NO-PEST Strip in the same room - I NEVER bring outdoor plants inside, too risky, pest-wise - I'd rather throw a plant away, than risk bringing spider mites into the house, and fighting those bastards for months :smokin:

Every time I've tried, I brought something back in no matter how hard I tried to keep them out. Sprays, strips etc. Mostly spider mites and fruitfies. Best not to contaminate your grow room and the rest of your grow IMHO.

Everyone talking about bringing pests in the closet - I hear you. But if I don't plan on using it again for a year or so, can't I do this now, and spray real well afterwards? How long can these pests live in a Rubbermaid shed w/o any plants in it? Thx to all - I wouldn't consider doing this if I felt OK leaving them in my backyard, but these are getting bigger all the time, and prying eyes next door could pop me.

ive really never had a bug problem, but i dont grow in the same place 2 yrs in a row. either by choice or thats the way it had to be. i know i have spider mites on my honey suckle but you cant move it every yr. the damn things found that plant and keep coming back. i used a dishsoap/bleach dip last yr, and it worked but it killed flowers at the same time.
