New to Hydro, Advice on Drip System
Hello everyone =)
I've done some general research on hydroponics but really want to get into it and start a drip system. Pretty much have everything down but I would love some advice pertaining to the actual drip system.
For example, what exactly do I need to have a drip system for a couple (2) plants? When I ask I mean pertaining to the actual system of pumps, tubes, etc. The nutrients, medium, containers, etc. I have down but there are a few things I'm puzzled about.
Tubing I'm sure I can buy at Lowe/Home Depot but where could I buy a pump? And, I'm not sure correct me if I'm wrong, you can't just have a big ol' thing of tubing dripping water onto your plants you need a regulator or something.
As you can see I'm not very knowledgeable of the whole pump system and would be very glad if you could either point me in the direction of some information or type a little out =)
(I've already done a bit of googling and it didn't help that much)fancy boots Reviewed by fancy boots on . You can buy the drip system on the net...actually any parts you need you can get from a hydro store including the air pump but you can also get an air pump, airstone, tubing etc etc at any pet store. I'm sure you can build some sort of drip ring system but I couldn't tell you how. I'm sure someone else here can though.
Good luck

Drip to waste for two plants you need
4 x 1/2 gallon per hour drip emitters ( two per plant)
4 x 1/4" barbed couplers ( 1 per emitter)
pump
some kind of res
1/2" tubing
1/4" tubing
timer for pump
If you want to recycle the nute you'll need some kind of tray to put the individual pots in, and return plumbing.
Go to a decent grow shop- if you don't tell them what you're growing, they should help you lay it out on the floor and make sure you've got all the parts. More expensive, but for a two plant system you're not spending any real $ anyway, and you can pick the staff's brain.I assume you understand that we have options on your time,
And we will ditch you in the harbour if we must-
But if it all works out nicely,
You\'ll get the bonus you deserve
From doctors we trust.
