hey alex, yes plants will rebud if the light cycle is right. how long has the other plant been under 12/12? some strains take longer to show flowers than others. if it has been longer than 2 weeks check for any light leaking in during the night cycle. you can also try to change the light cycle to 13/11 or 11/13 and see if that helps. some sativas flower with more hours of light than indicas.

    do plants re-bud

the plant has been on 12/12 for about a week, i thought it was time to start the budding process as the plant was getting quite potent and big, and also because the plants stretch when the flowering stage begins, i cant see any sign of budding yet. Would it want to bud more if i changed my grow room a couple of degrees colder? Also is it possible to tell if a plant is male before it flowers, by the look of it perhaps. Thanks

hey alex, i don't think that the temp will change too much, but it shouldn't hurt, so you can try. i would wait another week before doing anything drastic.

unfortunatly, the sex of the plants cannot be determened before the flowers appear, unless the plant shows small pre-flowers. i have heard that male plants tend to grow tall faster, and grow more vigorously in the early stages, but that is nethier here nor there.

Hi. You can tell the sex of plants before you switch the light cycle. Most plants will show their junk as they get older (even under 18-24 hours of light) Beginers are always worried that they won't beable to tell the difference.. YOU WILL BE ABLE TO TELL --

    : )

It can often take plants 10-15 days (under 12-12 light cycle) before they will show any obvious sign of budding... One week is not much time at all. Make sure you keep your plants in complete darkness for 12 hours.. no light seepage...

It can be a real cool thing to re-bud (second harvest) a plant after one harvest.. they start exploding from all over (when you increase their light from 12 to 24 hours) the plant can can get HUGE very quickly (nodes all over the place). this is not a reccomended way to go if you are strictly after profits and quick turn around. but if you love your plant...... it sure fun to watch them go through this change!!!

yeah, you can tell the sex in vegetative stage but only with some experience. if not sure, watch very closely. re-flowering is very stressful, but as knowm said, can be very productive. also, try to keep temperature as constant as possible - that is, same temp each day and same temp each night. remember, plants grow from light AND heat. with proper water and co2 plants can take heat as high as 117*! good luck, rock on!
