YAY! once again another thread on here long since derailed

Gigliozzi, do you make that claim that Ron Paul doesn't know what he is talking about simply on his quote about CIA funding alQuada in the 80's? How would anyone truly know what went on behind the scenes until every document becomes declassified? We where at the time enemies with Russia and the Afghan front was are way to fight the Russians without actually fighting the Russians. Even if it wasn't purely financial assistance to them we did have CIA operatives over there helping to train them to fight, just like our CIA helped Israel and there security forces.

"And anyone who has bothered to go beyond the rumors, or the murky suppositions, and leafed through the most basic of high school textbooks dealing with the Soviet-Afghan War will come to understand this."

Go look at most high school text books in the middle east and you will see they teach anti semitic view points. History is written by the victors or those who think they won. Get an American and a British history book and compare there 2 viewpoints on the American revolutionary war. Or an American and German history book to compare the viewpoints of WW2. You will find slanted versions to fit the respective nations views. History isn't written in black and white, but also gray, brown and, blue.

But back to Ron Paul.

Don't hate on Ron but hate his main core of followers. They are the...Smug? ones that seem to be the major turn off to this candidate. Most Ron posts here come from Prison Planet and well... I'll just leave that at a LOL.. I'm not one of those "9/11 inside job" but I know allot of his supporters are, but whatever I can look past them. However they are right when they say he is ignored my mainstream media when you compare him to the "top runners". If he had equal coverage on CNN/FOX/whoever then allot of these "I'm right, you're wrong" posts about him would probably stop.

"I wonâ??t deny it â?? I am disgusted by just how many people are ecstatic at the prospect of rallying behind Ron Paulâ??s policy of appeasement. At the same time, there is no debate that can be successfully had with such people. At the end of the day, you cannot debate questions of morality."

Policy of appeasement? This man has been in congress for many years and has a voting record to back up his position. IMO, he fits the GOP idealism to a T. Small government, more control for "WE THE PEOPLE" and not the "I'm the decider" BS. So by appeasement do you think he will pull a 180 out of nowhere if elected to office? All politicians try to appease the voters or they get no votes. So to say "policy of appeasement" it actually applies to everyone and not a singled out individual. And if you want to debate me in stem cell research in another tread I'll gladly debate you on questions of morality.

BTW I've contributed to his campaign the max allowance $2,300. If he doesn't win the GOP nomination then I hope Ron runs as a 3rd party as a reformist or independent. Even if he loses it's still a slap in the face to mainstream candidates as he pulled votes away from them that could have made them the victor. And if he does actually win then  but all his views wouldn't make it in the current political scene, but atleast steer the country in a better direction.
