My dad and uncle took shrapnel in The Nam, My dad in the leg, my uncle in the neck/back of head. . . I'm glad they made it back. Sucks they had to deal with civilian bullsh*t. . .like my dad once said "I'm a boarder hoppers son that was drafted for fun."


We usual visit buddies of his or family today. I wanted to BBQ. He loves this country and i know he's going to want to do something today, but I'm stuck at work all day. We planned on going to an event too. . .

everyone have a good safe day. i lost my cousin just 3 weeks ago in a road side bombing he was only 19. he loved what he did and we will all remember him and what he did for his country that he did love. enjoy the day and take a minute to remember those who were lost.

My dad was a helicopter pilot in Vietnam, and he was awarded the Silver Star.

My brother, a colonel in the Rangers who was also awarded a Silver Star, is in Iraq now for his third tour of duty, and they just extended it by three more months. I miss him and hope for his safety. It takes incredible bravery to do what these soldiers do; I can't imagine facing such danger everyday. Because they do, we don't have to. Thanks for this thread!

My art teacher was a chopper pilot too, he was part of a big fuss when the made that We Were Soldiers film.
