Light question did reasearch wants opinions

Ok this is going to be long. So here it goes.


Ok looked up some lights. I heard that mh and hps (hids) did best on plants but could be grown with cfl's. I went to my local hard ware store (Lowes) seen gor-lux lights full specturm and red specturm. I have 2 42watt 2 23watt CFL's and 2 15watt red specturm gro-lux lights in my closet.

would running the 2 gro-lux with 2 23 watt CFL's be enought light for 1 plant in a 2x2 closet. I have the closet split in half one side is for veg the other side for flower.

Second question. Where can I get some mylar and how much does it cost. I am on a low budget.

look in the sporting goods at walmart they are called emergency blankets...they are 2$ a pack

Hell yea man ..... thats better then 16$ for a 25 foot roll that I don't need cuz I only have a 2x2. Thanks man thats a big help....

Yes with mylar I think your lighting will be enough for 1 plant

Thanks stone&sticky that will help me out a lot. Have been to wal-mart looking around. there were no e-blankes but I did find the winsheld covers. Looks a lot like what I have been seeing on some peoples pic. Stone I have been watching your gow log as well as others. Thanks for all the help :smokin:

i also looked at walmart and didnt find any e-blankets but i found from scotch mylar reflective tape in a long spool so i got that and just hung them up and made sure they were right...

LOOK for them in the camping aisle......they are TINY......because they are folded up into a square.....i promise you....if my walmart has them....yours will too....just as the guy in the sporting goods section were they are...and if he comes close to asking why you would need them....telll him that you are putting together an emergency kit for a paintball team or something.....but i do promise you that they are there
