Like fingers pointing towards you like they're showing you something on their palm kind of thing? its hard to imagine seeing as I havent seen anyone do that before...

its somewhat like this... but its very easy to understand: while standing, bend your elbow until your arm is pointing forward, making a straight angle with your body. Then, rotate your wrist until your palm is upwards. Let your hand loose, so the palm will not be pointing exatctly upwards, but between upwards and forward. Exactly like if you were showing your palm to the person, or if you were giving something that is in your palm. It may seems hard to describe, but im sure you have seen it already.

To the original question... for me, the surest way to know is to observe the person when im stoned. I dont know why, but when im stoned i can read and interpret all kind of body language, i can feel how the people feels, i can almost read their thoughts. It helps me a lot, as i was very clueless when sober. Now i learned somethings when stoned, and try to remember them when im sober, but its hard to describe. My advice is to get stoned, and try to "feel".
Of course reading the signs the people said, as eye contact, showing palms, etc, sometimes works, but just searching for some "standard" signs, without knowing what youre doing seems for me much like following a cooking recipe. Some people dont show this signs so clearly, or show another ones, so i think the best option is observe the person as attentively as you can, so you can know the truth.

If you're not sure, hold their eyes for two to three seconds, just looking, not doing anything to draw attention. If they hold your gaze, and especially if they smile, they're probably attracted to you, male or female. Try it.

Also,they may instinctively want to block other women/men so see how they react when others flirt with you or you flirt with others. If they pay too much attention, if they purposefully avert their gaze, or if they try to steal your attention, they want you to be theirs.

And lastly, people's lips get redder when they're thinking of sex. It's hard to notice though, unless you have an excuse to stare.

My best advice is to make small advances on them and see if they like it.

for me, it's all in the eyes, i get a girl to look into my eyes, their mine, i dont know why, girls all love me, but when they look into my eyes somethin happens, cant really explain it. Also, if you see the person you like in a crowd, when you lock eyes, it just feels as if you're the only 2 people there, it's weird to explain, it's just a feelin...and if you're together chillin, your eyes lock constantly........
