    Million Dollar Question....

I was wanting to know if anyone has ever heard of a very small AC unit. I have my grow box out in my storage unit and it has three fans in it, but it's just blowing in hot air and my temps are steady at well over 90 degrees.

Since bringing it indoors is not an option for me, I was wandering If anyone has heard of a very small air conditioner?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.... Thanks in Advance

    Million Dollar Question....

Yeah you can get them but spring for a normal sized one, really. You need the BTUs.

And if you are not exchanging fresh air, you need to either be doing that, or running CO2 enrichment.

You should compare the cost of a/c vs. CO2 enrichment. From what I've been told the 90's are perfect temps for CO2 and you get bigger buds to boot.

Don't ya love it when people give you stupid advice instead of answering the darn question. LOL

Lowe's has some small units, starting at around 6,000 btu. The BTU's go up a lot faster than the price so it doesn't cost a heck of a lot to get more a/c than you need.

Walmart has a free-standing unit that is also a dehumidifier. The specs on this mention something about a window vent kit option, so I imagine you need to vent this to the outside somehow. (It only makes sense. The heat has to go somewhere, it's not going to simply disappear.

    Anyway, hope that helps.

    Million Dollar Question....

I agree that this a million dollar question..
I to have concerns with temps tipping 94 degrees. What has helped me might sound curd. But I sure can't afford 199. + for portable ac unit.
I Use ice water bottles. From a pint to 2 liters. Rock hard frozen ice .. Of course, with the aid of 1 fixed ocillating fan 8" 1 small turbo fan 12" On the floor aimed up, and a 24 ped fan. front center..
On those hot afternoons. It works wonders.:rasta: For a 2 to 3 hrs.
    Can reduce 94 to 80 s..
I have only heard bad things about heat and the flowering process. Until PharmaCan mentioned Co2 enrichment. I wll want to learn more on both notions.. Stay cool and ... Do you have any pics. What point of development are your greenies ?
Plz take a look at my thread here " In over my Head "

    Million Dollar Question....

Hey thanks for the response guys... I actually did some more checking on the web for mini-AC units and they have some that are made for computer equipment that are only 200 btu which is more than enough for my tiny box.

They are only about 10 pounds and they are about 5 inches wide by 7 inches tall by 7 inches deep. I think that this would be Ideal.

I hope this will help someone else in my situation.

Just to be perfectly clear, I honestly don't know shit about growing. However, i did have this same discussion a couple of weeks ago, on this forum, and several growers, whose opinions I think can be trusted, verified that plants with good CO2 enrichment like the temps in the 90's.

    Million Dollar Question....

Yeah, I mean real F'n small!!!

my grow cab is 1 ft wide by 2 ft tall by 2 ft deep. I can't fit anything even close to a conventional AC unit into my grow box.

Thanks for the Ideas though. I'll keep the co2 thing in mind....
