hmmm medical weed, I couldnt tell you because I havent been prescribed cannabis by my doctor but if you were to just get weed by your dealers for example, no I think it would make it worst unless you use a vaporizer.

It's not going to help clear out anything, though it'll always ad some tar. Weed does alleviate the symptoms of athsma, but that's only temporary, nothing fixed. If you smoke cigs though, you might as well keep up the weed too since it suppresses lung (and other) cancer(s) pretty well.

It's the THC and CBD, the active cannabinoid ingredients, that are beneficial for lung health and airway dilation, not whole cannabis smoke. Whole cannabis smoke contains a whole lot more particulate and carcinogenic crap than even cigarette smoke. So unless you vaporize to simply get more of the active ingredients and less of the dirty stuff, your asthma isn't likely to get better. There are people here who'll swear weed improves their asthma and bronchitis, but in tests that's not what's been found. In the few tests that have been done, whole weed smoke makes pulmonary irritation worse. If you could take just the isolated THC/CBD, that'd be great for you. But you're getting that and all the other ancillary stuff, too, in your lungs when you smoke it.
This is one of the great paradoxes of cannabis. And it's one that's the hardest for people who want to think of it as all good to understand. Yes, cannabis smoke is dirtier than cigarette smoke, but it's far less of a cancer risk. That's because the cannabinoid compounds themselves have very strong cancer-suppressing properties. And also, too, because very few people smoke as much weed as they do cigarettes. Anyway, that's why the statistic anti-drug types sometimes cite about a joint being equal in damaging content to a much larger quantity of cigarettes is actually true. A joint does indeed contain many more carcinogenic compounds in comparison to a cigarette. What the anti-drug propagandists don't ever mention is that, even though that's true, the joint contains active ingredients that seem to keep that more dangerous carcinogenic ratio from being a problem.\"That best portion of a good man\'s life: his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and love.\"

I don't know if it's actually dirtier than tobacco smoke birdgirl. Just check out this cannabis/tobacco comparrison from Erowid:
Erowid Cannabis Vault : Info on Smoke composition
Cannabis seems to win on most fronts.

In the carcinogenic areas, it is. I've seen that Erowid table before and wondered about it because it contradicts some of these others.
I cannot for the life of me remember that UCLA researcher's name at the moment. The one who does all the cannabis research and established all the cancer-suppression info? He's done repeated testing and smoke analysis and found it contains more of the carcinogenic compounds. It's his tests, along with those done at two other drug-related research bodies, that have shown that. Which is why those statistics are cited so much. One, I think, was the National Academy of Health and another might have been the National Council on Drug Abuse. (You'd naturally assume their tests would reveal dirtier smoke.)
Why can't I remember his name? We talk about him here all the time. Is it Tashkin???\"That best portion of a good man\'s life: his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and love.\"

If you come accross any of those studies I'd be happy to see them. I do know, though, that some of these studies comparring carcinogen rates use a rather fallable method, in that they compared ciggarette smoke through regular cig filters, while looking at cannabis smoke without them.
Personally, I just find that tobacco smoke feels way harsher.

Smoke it pure. If it's good quality and your ahstma isn't that bad it does work. Diet is an important factor as well.

Get a vaporizer!!! Your lungs will thank you! I toked for 40 years, and my lungs were a mess- shortness of breath, coughing up "glup", the whole 9 yards! Two weeks after switching to vaping, MY LUNGS WERE CLEAR! Now, I'm not asthmatic, but my hubby has problems in that area- and he, too, thought it gave him some relief. The little box types- Vapor Bros, etc- aren't that expensive. AND- there is little smell, you use less for the same high, and what's left over makes some nice brownies (Yes! You can get high off the same weed TWICE!!!) Get a vaporizer!- Granny:hippy:
