1st grow, where to shop?
I'm trying to make a list of supplies to buy for my first grow, which will be bag seed.
So far I don't really know what to get. I know I'll be starting the germinated seedlings off in the small plastic cups, and as for soil I'll probably be using miracle gro unless someone has a better suggestion?
List..
-miracle gro
-larger planters
-plastic cups
-white poster board (for lining the area in which I'll be growing my plant)
So where should I shop for all these things?
Now I'm not sure what type of lights I should be buying, or fertilizers/nutes if anyone can fill me in on these things it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks to all who help.SyaNidal Reviewed by SyaNidal on . 1st grow, where to shop? I'm trying to make a list of supplies to buy for my first grow, which will be bag seed. 1st grow, where to shop?
Walk into your local grow shop, bring cash ( you really don't want a purchase from an online grow to be on your easily subpeonad bank records).
The guy behind the counter can answer all of your questions, as long as you don't use the words " marijuana", "pot", etc.I assume you understand that we have options on your time,
And we will ditch you in the harbour if we must-

1st grow, where to shop?
Don't use miracle grow, it makes plants taste nasty.
For your growing medium:
Go to any garden center, even Lowes/Walmart/Homedepot garden centers, and get a bag of Perlite, a bag of Vermiculite, and a block or bag of Spaghum Moss. Mix equal parts of each in your pots. This allows for good drainage and moisture control, and gives YOU control of ferts.
Lighting:
High Pressure Sodium is best, but it's not cheap. I also like HO T5 fixtures. You can find both on ebay. I don't have experience with CFL grows, so I'm going to claim ignorance on the topic.
Ferts:
Use a different fertilizer for vegetative and flowering. Some of the big names are Fox Farm, Advanced Nutrients, Dyna-Grow. I use Peters 20-20-20 on my veg plants, and Jacks Classic Bloom 10-30-20 in flowering. You can find both at your local garden center.Every man has inside himself a parasitic being who is acting not at all to his advantage
