Because god has always wanted his followers to kill non-believers, regardless of religion. But my question is, how does money make crazy people believable? miracles, armageddon, the inalienable right to global destruction. why are we surrounded by fools who look forward to the end of the world with a gleam in their eye? it was bad enough when the philosophical sticking points were centered around political and economical ideologies. now we have taken a step back into the dark ages and brought religious dogma into the arena of international politics. i'm just sitting here, waiting for the pope to declare war on buddhism.

if it weren't so sadly amusing, it would be frightening as hell. muslims praying fervently for their mahdi, christians gleefully awaiting their rapture, everyone seems to be holding their breath in anticipation of enlightenment and the calamities it carries in its wake. i suppose it has always been this way. people preferring god to take charge and wipe away mankind's inequities and iniquities.
