Review: ErboPipe smoking device

I am not in any way, shape, or form, affiliated with ErboPipe... I was doing research on the internet before I made my purchase, and couldn't find an unbiased review from someone who actually owned one. I know alot of Cannabis.com members read Skunk, so I wanted to take the time to write a review. I hope you all like it. :bong:

Skunk magazine did a full 2 page write-up on this device in the June 2007 issue. The article described it as a motorized bong/vaporizer/shotgun, that provides the user with a hygienic (your lips never touch the tube... it uses a small fan to blow out a stream of smoke) nearly cough-free experience. As I get older, I am finding it harder and harder to take the big rips and tokes I used to, so the idea of cough-free smoking made me wanna give it a shot. I found a new one on eBay for $70 shipped (the Skunk article said it was about $100), so I decided to try it. When the box arrived in the mail, I was a bit disappointed... The box was only about the size of 2-3 packs of cigarettes. I opened the box, and found it to be very well packaged, and in great shape. In the box, was a very crappy photocopied manual, and a spiffy new electric bong, that when assembled, resembles an old-fashioned oil can. I followed the instructions, and carefully installed a pair of AA batteries, added a teaspoon of water to the "expansion chamber" (the instructions were VERY specific about using exactly 1tsp of water), packed the bowl up with some pot, and lit the bowl by adding flame and pushing the button. It isn't really a vaporizer at all, as you burn the smoking material, but I gotta say, it is the easiest way I've ever smoked, and it takes about 1/2 much pot as a normal pipe to get the same results, plus you never put your lips on it, so you can't pick up your toke'n buddy's cold. The smoke that comes out is very cool and moist, and is very easy on the lungs (didn't cough once! Very unusual for me...). I give it a 9 outta 10. It would have scored higher if the batteries were easier to install, and the dome portion was made of glass, but I must say, I am very satisfied with my purchase.

Wow... no one has any comments?! I figured someone would have at least said that I was a shill or that my post was spam... I wish someone on here woulda reviewed it before I did. I would have bought it sooner if someone on here said it was good. It really is cool though. I don't use anything else now.

Yeah... I know it is. The words "smoking device" are in the title, and I said in the review "it's not really a vaporizer, as you burn the smoking material"... They really shouldn't have put vaporizer in the description, as it is misleading, but those were Erbopipe's and Skunks words, not mine. I think it's cool for the money. I was thinking about getting a vaporwares or vaporbrothers, but the cost was prohibitive. For what it is, it works very well. The water in the pipe when your finished smoking looks like rotten skim milk, and smells like 2 month old bong water, even after only one bowl, so it does do a good job of filtering out the crap. I have a really hard time with joints, bowls and normal bongs anymore (it really sucks getting old... I don't recommend it to anyone! LOL!). I have to take real small hits, or I feel like I'm gonna hack up a lung. The Erbopipe has been the only way I have been able to take a full-lung hit in a long time. Right now, I'm trying to think of a way to "jazz it up" a bit, as it is very plain looking. Thinking about painting the base, or putting some holographic tape around it. Let go of the button... You have to push and hold the button down for the duration of your hit. If you wanna get real tricky, of if your feeling particularly coordinated, you can pull the bowl off, and keep pressing the button to clear the chamber, but I find it to be more trouble than I wanna go through. If I wanna clear out the stale smoke, I just gently blow in the stem. :bong:

Hey! Don't knock it! You can smoke thru your nose if you want! I just don't recommend it... Gives me a sinus headache, and makes my nose stuffy.
