Yes it does. It's the pot(THC) that's being distilled out of the weed into the pipe. The thing I'm using (vaporstar) is an easy way to heat my herb up 'til I see vapor, then I take the flame away and I get a 4 second blast of solid vapor from the heat saved in the steel.
12 hits later the herb is deep brown dust, and done.

The resin that is in vapor form condenses on any cool surface it touches, and so it sticks and collects on the inside of the pipe. If the vaporiser is good, the resin should be as I said before cooked but pure.

You've got to try one of these things before making crazy comments about something you obviously haven't embraced into your life yet.
