LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) â?? A Liberty University student arrested after homemade explosive devices were found in the trunk of his car was planning to be among thousands attending the funeral of the Rev. Jerry Falwell, Campbell County authorities said.
Mark David Uhl, 19, was arrested Monday night on charges of manufacturing an explosive device, Major Steve Hutcherson said. He said Uhl told a family member he had made bombs and planned to attend the funeral. The family member notified authorities.

Gaddy described the five bombs as "sort of like Napalm." He said they were about the size of soda cans and were filled with gasoline and Styrofoam, which dissolves and forms a sticky substance. "When it blows up, it sticks to things and burns," he said.

Gaddy said experts with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives would analyze the devices, which were being stored by the state police.

The sheriff also said investigators in Fauquier County were interviewing several people who had been in an ROTC program with Uhl, of Amissville, in high school and may have been involved in making the bombs. One is now in the Army, he said.

P4B, looks like you need to rephrase. This plot did not target the funeral, but the protesters. According to ABC news,

The student, 19-year-old Mark Uhl of Amissville, Va., reportedly told authorities that he was making the bombs to stop protesters from disrupting the funeral service. The devices were made of a combination of gasoline and detergent, a law enforcement official told ABC News' Pierre Thomas. They were "slow burn," according to the official, and would not have been very destructive.

Thanks for the heads-up! Either way, this assclown has wrecked his life based on hate. I don't agree with protesting a funeral either but this isn't the route to go. I'm sure there is a Christian Biker group that would have blocked the view of the protesters like they do for soldiers funerals. :thumbsup:
