what strain would this be? this 1 I really have to have it.

Once again... the leaves of that plant are only purple because the temperature where it is located at has dropped significantly during the last couple weeks of the flowering stage. That plant started out as green as any other MJ plant, so Im sorry to burst your bubble, but there arent plants that start out purple like that.

If you would like I will post an explanation of why the leaves turn purple... maybe that would shed some light on all the confusion.

Chlorophyll breaks down at extreme temps, exposing the other pigments produced by the plant.

As for that plant having once been green, meh, it's a possibility but plants that were intially green, even after being exposed to cold temps, often still show green in the lower leaves when temps drop. I have to go figure out what book it was that had that plant- I want to say it was Greg Green's breeding book actually, but I may be wrong.

Purple plants may be a little MORE stealth but I'm still not gonna be planting one in my vegetable patch for damn sure.

Lol somebody was asking a question about purple haze and purple plants months ago in a forum elsewhere and a friend of mine posted this little cartoon that explained it with little cartoon photos... I was hopin Id be able to find it but no luck. I spent hours trying to find it too lol.

And yeah I guess youre right... and to the right of that plant is one that is as green as can be. Hmm I dunno then! Now Im just as curious lol.

they have purple strains out there that need no cold flowering temps, that plant looks very dead.

Word, I noticed that too. The leaves are saggy. But I imagine that if it was healthy, it would look real good . Very strange, though, since I've never seen a plant have that much purple (it being 100% purple) from cold temps alone.

Anyway, there's no way we can tell what strain it is... sorry.
    blaze the haze for daze

OK, I can't hold it in any longer - - my opinion: that purple plant in the photo is NOT cannabis - I don't remember the name of it, but I know I hauled some of it a few years ago, out of Monrovia Farms (America's largest nursery) out in the valley west of Portland, OR - it is some sort of ornamental shrub/tree, and turns a dark, almost black, at certain times (season, maturity??) - it's the one in my attached photo, I think, before darkening - I am going to send that purple pic to Monrovia Farms, and ask them what the hell it is - plus, in the photo, the plant has some sort of 'tag' on it, a glass greenhouse behind it, ornamental hedges and plants, obviously photographed in a nursery -

omg frank i have seen those weeping ornamental maples... you cant see the SCALE of it very well but the leaves are fairly small and feathery

however that pic in the greg green book, the purple plants DO exist

too bad that pic is so blurry, becasue it DOES look like theres a bit of bud fluff on it\

yeah, those 'buds' give me trouble, too - this damned thing just has me captivated - ( I tried e-mailing a photo to Monrovia, but their 'Contact Us' mail, doesn't allow attachments ) - I've never seen any purple plants, other than just the budsites, and a bit of leaf - it certainly is fascinating (and, I'm VERY medicated now, lol) - I'm like a cat, you can keep me amused for hours with a piece of yarn, and, now, THIS
