its like a five week course of class-room work and on the road lessons. i dont think its too difficult to pass that, and you'll probably get job offers when you start the schooling.
BUT, you have to have a damn near perfect driving record and they will for sure drug test.

Yep,,,drug testing is a biggy... the toughest thing I believe is backing up an articulating piece of equipment,,,if you are good with boat or car trailers and it comes natural for you then it's a peice of cake...

my brother just got his CDL about 3 days ago. All hes done is drive short(er) drives in the truck, but he loves it alot already. If you dont have a family, then truck driving may be the thing for you. I wouldnt mind trying my hand at it someday, but the last time I drove one of those things, I fuckin cried.

Freewheelingfrank is a retired trucker... maybe he'll stop by with some tales of life on the road.
I gotta say, don't even THINK about carrying the Shrek with you. DOT can come in and do whatever they want at a weigh station. While you have a CDL, they OWN you. You get caught playing mule, you're fucked. If that's why you want to be a trucker, so you can take weed all over the place, consider a vehicle that ISN'T required to stop for weigh-ins and logbook checks, and a license that doesn't have a zero-tolerance clause attached.
