Which part of yourself can you really trust?

    My situation:

My brain is telling me with every alarm signal and sense of good judement that for my own good I must not pursue "Girl"

My heart is telling me with every beat it pumps that I cannot be without "Girl"

Who's voice is loudest in your mind? I am still undecided in my mind, hence my mad mood swings in the past couple of weeks towards her. At any given hour I will either be in the mood to completely shield myself from her and forget she exists, or I could be in the mood to allow my eyes to never move away from her knowing fully well that every second of pleasure I get from looking at her will be an hour of pain later in the day.

You are truley in hell, my friends, when you begin conditioning yourself at night to hate the most beautiful thing in your life...and you wonder if succeeding in doing so is really even for the best at all...

That fucks with a girl. One minute you want them, the next minute they assume they did something wrong. Its happened to me too much.

If you really want her, if everything just sort of disappears around her when you look at her, go for it. If you feel she could be good for you or could be a big part of your life, go for it.

You'll regret it later if you don't.

I know....but she knows how I feel, said she wasn't ready for a relationship just yet but loves me and wants to see how it'd work out, and then a week later is dating some other dude and starts acting like she's forcing her eyes not to water when she looks in my direction. How am I supposed to feel?

Ideally, I think the smartest thing is to make the decision with both elements--intellectual and emotional. Sometimes going on an entirely emotional impulse (heart) or according to the zing of attraction along can be risky. Fun but risky. Usually when your intuition alarms and good judgment are telling you not to proceed, there's a good reason behind that. Those alarms are probably protecting you from getting hurt in the long run.

I wrote a song today with the reoccuring theme that I am prepared to lose my sanity and self destruct from this retarded pain I have if it means one day it'll mean something

well.. your brain can over-complicate the simplest of tasks and and your heart warms and reacts to things you deep down find essential to your happiness
