    in ideal ircumstances
you would hang it in cool dry place for about two weeks
can take leaf off if you wish,.i found it has no bearing on the budds if they good they good, and the leaf makes goos hash if ya know how,

as far as that goes there is another way
can place the buds in brown paper bag and store say in ya closet, open the bag now and then let it air out some,if you leave it closed will probly mold
best is to hang up and let dry slow, will have great taiste great buzz and smooth smoke that aint harsh at all, quick drying is a no no
kills thc for one thing, and will be harsh.
everyone kinda has ways to do this
ive not had enough crop to hang up for too many years in a row now but in my day
i ve had outbiuldings hanging full of plants, right up till december in some cases (when i had alot) i would let them hang no more than a month usually then jar the budds up when absolutly dry

    hope that helps

providing the plant is ready to harvest then you cut the plant at the base and hang upside down in a cool dark room. air for approx 30 mins per day for about 2 -3 weeks when dry manicure and place into air tight containers, again open and air once a day 15 -20 mins per day this is the curing process these times are all approximations there are different methods of telling when bud is ready 1 is taste.... if it hits the spot its ready

once the plant is done drying while it is hung what is the point of putting it in a container and let it get wet again and dry it again??

Heres mine so far, I still have a few more weeks of drying and manucuring, plus the cure. I had a small bowl full today and i'm very pleased so far, The final product might just send me to the hospital with a smile on my face!

it takes time for the bud to process, it will get more potent (cbd breakind down into thc) and will make the bud less harsh. Take the fan leaves off, but leave on the leaves surrounding the bud that have trichome coverage and smoke them

it should be absolutley dry before storing
and stored in cool dry place like any herb
man i hope ya understand if it aint dry it will mold if its closed up
keep check on it for one thing
if you ever store weed, and open the container and smell a amonia like smell
    its molding,
it just needs to cure a lil and really dry,ya see, curing it by hanging it is best way there ever will be,slowly dry it but dry it completely before storing and you will be ok
    peace

Don't rush and watch closely.. in my early days.. I used to leave the lights on, fans full blast and I really made a mess of things.. one time I overdryed by leaving the lights on overnight.. that was a ten pound mistake.. OUCH!!!!

I personly think it is easier to trim while the plant is wet..

I read at overgorws today. Water curring by submerging the bud for 3 days in fresh water and as soon as it drys from that, cure process over. 7 day process vs 1-6mths.

Sounds like a winner to me.
