I'm pretty sure that if one Barnes and Noble in one part of the country doesn't drug test their employees, then the rest don't, either. Enormous corporations like that almost always have a uniform hiring policy, including or not including drug tests. Also, I believe that if a drug test is a condition of employment, then the potential employer must clearly state that on the application.

Anyway, more to the point, I have a buddy in San Diego, CA who smokes constantly, way more than me, and he's been working at B&N for nearly a year now. He definitely didn't get tested.
