I am expanding the horizons of the thread with a new concern. I have encountered a slight problem with the ordering of seeds. I can order 10 seeds of which the gender is not specified nor guaranteed or I can take the sure thing and go with the feminised seeds. However, many strains that are offered do not include an all female package. And that spells trouble to me. Many of you have the capacity for 10+ plants, and quite frankly it would be very discouraging to me as a first-time grower to have to destroy the males and begin all over again as I have a tendency to give up on things that upset me. With that in mind, I will order all female seeds and avoid any chance of disappointment pertaining to the gender of my plants. Thanks.

I guess it would depend on how you wanted to grow. One shot deals or long term.
Good luck
I have known seeds that were in a cool dark place for 10 years and they popped----

i feel your pain. when i started growing i didnt want to get discourged by males. i went to a head shop in spain and found Femaleseeds.nl(i dont work for them or anything) i bought Northern lights and Nevill haze. both plants were amazing, the NL hardly smelled durning flower(good beginner choice) and the NH.......well i dont remeber too much about it but i enjoyed it. i would recommend female sees.nl if your looking for good genetics and female plants( under the correct growing conditions.)

ordering so-called 'feminized' seeds will not help you avoid any chance of disappointment ... if you do your research, you will find that the expensive 'feminized' seeds are still liable to produce males, and can be VERY prone to hermaphrodites ... I strongly advise to save your money, buy 'regular' seeds from a reputable breeder, and grow them out ... 'ya pays yer money and ya takes yer chances' ... I have been growing indoors most of my life, and I have actually had very few males ... I can remember trying to force males on some plants, because I couldn't seem to grow one by accident ... :smokin:

If you are easily discouraged, this is not the hobby for you.
Even now, I frequently encounter setbacks- I recently lost most of a crop due to overapplication of a bud booster. Before that, I had a high-temp DISASTER. It happens to all of us.
Seeds are 'good' for 5 years, after which the germ rate decreases by ~10% per year.
Proper storage (cool dry dark) prolongs this process.
