Well, people who take anti-depressants can be taking them for a number of reasons, some of which are not under their control.
But, self-esteem and unconditional love and value for the self are literally the core of almost all unhappyness in this world. Relationship with the self dictates relationship with the external world.
With psychoactive drugs, you're giving something outside of yourself power over you, trading some of your own personal power to acheive an artificial self-esteem.
I guess once one has the mental capacity to overcome low-self esteem, then there wouldn't really be any problem with cannabis, there wouldn't be any grip for the addiction to take hold.
So, my question is revised to: While one is learning and healing and building ones sense of self and mental health, how much can cannabis use interfere?

Anything else to add?
