From what I've read, the death penalty costs more than the letting them stay in prison. Appeals appeals and more appeals. Even if the guy goes to death row, the trial won't even start for 2 years, then the trial will take another 4 years, with delay, after appeal, after delay.

The death penalty isn't as easy as everyone thinks. It is a very lengthly, expensive process.

anyways, i think all the bullshit associated with death penalty is stupid..

i mean you can have some guy murder a family in cold blood, in the middle of the POLICE station with cameras pointed on him and he could still file for appeals and all that crap...

i still think for most, sitting in prison for life is the worst punishment, but for certain people, heinous ass crimes like this, i think the victims family should be able to decide whether they want them to stay in prison for life or death (as in, they tell the prosecutor what they want him to try and get as far as sentencing, don't confuse that with they can say i want him to die and he does)
