Patience: My Worst Enemy
I'm open ONLY to advice and any suggestions any of you may have... If you have nothing to say that may help, then just don't post here.
I've been germinating about 23 seeds for about 8 or 9 days now. From the research I've done on the Internet, I came to the conclusion that germination usually only takes about 2-7 days. Some fellow posters here on the forums told me to give my seeds about 2 weeks tops to allow for them to fully germinate. One particular seed (On May 11th, by which I understand was the anniversary of Bob Marley's death), suddenly cracked open and started sprouting one mean root. I planted it immediately in joy. It's planted with soil in a peat cup, and it's getting light and watering twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening/night. I've seen no growing progress yet, but hope to see some soon.
I currently waiting for the other 23 seeds to show some progress. I've been trying to keep the paper towels moist and the seeds as warm as possible.highguyinny Reviewed by highguyinny on . if you check those things all the time you're gonna go crazy.
i just lay the seeds down on the paper towel and fold it over, get it wet, press out the excess water gently, seal it in a ziplock, put it in a file cabinet, and forget about it.
then in like a week i'll check on them and booyah.
a watched pot never boils ya know?

I put my seeds in a coffee cup with a bit of distilled water and place somewhere warm and dark (like a closet). I ck in 24hours...to see if the water has evaporated or the seeds are cracked. If not, I ck again in twelve to twenty four hours. If cracked I take my pot with watered soil and place the seed with the root tip (becareful if it is out, use your finger to make a litte hole so you don't hurt the tail) in the dirt and the head barely poking out of the soil. I make sure the top of the soil doesn't dry out by misting occasionally, not habitually. Usually sprouts within two days.....I would die waiting a week to see if my seeds were good, lol. I'm impatient too.

charlie char has the method I use.
I prepare a coffee cup of very dilute GH bloom and coffee filter filtered rain water. After marking the paper towels with a pen, I put a few seeds in each of six to ten small pieces of the paper towel. After one fold the seeds sit in the crease. Dip in the solution and let excess run back into the cup. All goes into one baggie and into the kitchen cabinet above the stove in the dark for up to two weeks. 70*+ is best.
I'd never use plain distilled water or RO...sprouts need nutrients right away.
Don't plant more than you can handle; this method is extremely efficient.

I haven't had a problem using distilled or R/O. I believe the sprouts are getting thier first nutrients from the seed shell, no???
