Full of questions.. cloning and readyness..

    Hi all..

I have a couple outdoor plants going.

Well my plants are growing like crazy. My plant number one is growing tall getting 3-4 inches per day. On top of my wall I have a chain link fence that goes up an additional 6 feet and so I am sticking those ribbon things to block view as I know it will be poking its head over the top of the wall.

Plant number 2 isn't getting so tall as it is growing thick. Looking at it yesterday I saw the little crystals developing all over the buds and on the little leaves. Unfortionately my cam isn't good enough to take pics of the development. They are about 3 months now as I planted at the end of Feb. I can't wait to see what happens over the next few months if the crystals are popping now.

I want to cut clones, but at the same time I will be going to CA for 11 days starting on June 21. If I were to do clones now.. will the roots be developed enough to handle an 11 day no water thing?? It is turning to rain season and so we do get scattered showers every couple days. But would that be enough to sustain a clone? Or should I wait to cut clones until I return? With the one that is developing crystals can I cut a clone from a lower branch when its already starting to create flowers?

Anyhow I was checking out my plants a little more today and removing some leaves that were either damaged by bugs or touching the ground and getting messed up from dirt and water.

Now.. on to more questions.. which stage am I in?? Am I still in vegitative or am I in flowering?? Also plant 2 is developing crystals which I am very excited about. But I was looking at the back of the plant and I found a flower where the white stringies coming out of the flower had turned amber. So are the branches that all of the strings have turned amber on ready?? I thought that it had to be 12/12 till this started happening? And where I am in Mexico, that doesn't happen until October.

Then again back to the vacation plans and cloning. I have a little over a month and I specifically want clones of plant number 2. So since it seems on its way to flower and is developing crystals, is it too late for pulling clones??

Yikes my mind is going crazy!! Expert advice please!!

If you have crystals you are flowering.
It is going to be tough to get a clone from a low branch esp with a flowering plant- low branches often are woody and hard to root, and the concentration of auxins is VERY low, and it STILL would have to revert to veg
I'd wait until you get back anyway, because without attention, newly rooted clones don't have much chance- they are pretty delicate for a couple weeks.
    Is that rose 'tropicana'? Nice.
If you want to do mothers, it's much less hassle to get a small grow box or closet going indoors.

would wait till your back and then take some clones.
not sure if you are going to try to root the clones indoors or outdoors but you will likely need a humidity dome and no direct sunlight if outdoors for the first 7-10 days find a shady spot to place them. its probably easier to root clones indoors under flouros.
most plants do not need 12/12 to flower often 10- 11 hours of darkness is enough to trigger flowering and you are far enough south that your days probably dont get very long so your plants are flowering or was flowering at one point. but were still about a month away from the longest day of the year. so outdoors its hard to tell what may happen they may start to reveg and flower in the fall or they may continue to flower and finish early.
you may want to veg the clones indoors for awhile and place them outside to flower so they will get a decent size and yield more.
